So two days ago in my devotion, guess what I read. Yup, one of those scriptures I was supposed to be reading every day. This morning, guess what I read. Yup, the other scripture that I was supposed to be reading every day.
So if you ever think God does not talk to you, it is because you are not getting into his Word and allowing him to do so. You see, for God to speak to us, we have to work to know him. The only way to truly know him is through his word. His word is a living word and will speak to you as you need it. So get into his Word, get closer to God, sit and meditate on what he has to say and allow him to speak to your heart and soul.
Oh, yeah, you are probably wondering what those scriptures are that I am supposed to be reading and heeding. Here you go:
1 Cor 6:19-20 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
Rom 12: 1-2 1And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
I don't see how I can possibly read these every day and not want to get healthy. In addition to the scriptures above, here is a small excerpt from the devotional I was reading this morning:
Think about it for a moment. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and should be treated as such. Would you let your church building look run down or distressed?
This is a very convicting question for me. So you see, I believe God will communicate with us on all levels. It is our job to listen.
