S - Romans 12:1-2 1And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
O - My observation is this. God will not leave me alone!! LOL I have been given this scripture so many times in the past month, it is hard to ignore. In addition, I have been given two complimentary scriptures almost as often. I realize when God is directly sending me a message and now I have to act on it.
A - The realization that our bodies do not belong to us is huge. I like to think that when someone loans me something, I treat it better than my own stuff. So then, why have I abused this body that God has loaned me? I believe I have done exactly what verse 2 says. I have copied the behavior and the customer of this world when it come to how I eat and treat my health and my body. That is no way to be a living holy sacrifice that would be acceptable to God. It is time to let God transform me in more than just my mind but also my body. I will start treating it the way He meant for us to treat ourselves.
P - Father, thank you so much for the reminder of how I should be caring for myself. My prayer today is that you will help me stand strong and resist the temptations that the world has to offer as I move forward in my bodily transformation. I pray the Holy Spirit would direct my steps and give me wisdom and discernment on the correct course to day in my journey to becoming a living holy sacrifice that you would find acceptable.
In case you were wondering what the other verses were. You can check out I Corinthians 9:24-27 and I Corinthians 6:19-20. I doubt any of us could read those verses and not realize, we can do better.
