I know a lot of people that go to church but never open their Bible any other day of the week, heck, they may not even open it on Sunday. That is like rejecting a give from God. The Scriptures themselves are His gift to us. They allow us to get to know Him more intimately. It is through the Scriptures that we learn what God has promised us. He sent them to us to teach us, to encourage us and to give us hope. How can we learn if we don't hope the very gift He gave us? How can we find hope and encouragement if we don't find out what He has to say to us? How can we know when He has fulfilled His promise to us if we don't know what those promises are? We are told to wait patiently for Him to fulfill His promises, I believe that while we are waiting we need to take the opportunity to indulge in His teaching. Open your Bibles, absorb His word like a sponge, it will make the wait so much easier. It will make the wait so much more comfortable. You will find peace, even in troubled times, when you find God and know that He is for you in all things.
O - We are told the Scriptures were written to teach us, give us hope and encourage us. They offer us these things all the while we are waiting on God. They are our gift from God.
A - I will stay in your Word to always be able to find You Lord. You are my hope and encouragement and I can't know you if I don't know your word. I can't recognize the fulfillment of your promises if I don't know what those promises are.
P - I thank you Father for all your instruction. I thank you for your promises and the fulfillment of those. Help me to always be in and stay in the gift of your Scriptures so that I can recognize you and what you have promised all the time. Help me please to understand your hope and encouragement in my life as I come to know you more. In Jesus' name, Amen
