Peer pressure is an amazing thing. We get pushed and tugged in all directions by family, friends and co workers. Often times we end up doing what we know is wrong out of fear of not being accepted. We have let Satan into our lives when we do this. When you make wrong choices, you are not doing God's will. You can try to blame it on peer pressure but at some point you have to take responsibility for your actions. I mean Adam and Eve didn't have peer pressure, they made a wrong choice in a perfect place. Satan is a powerful influence. If you allow the world to transform you, you are opening up yourself to the influence of the enemy. You must open God's Word and be transformed by the acceptance of Jesus Christ into your life. That is where your strength will come from. The Holy Spirit is powerful. Partner with that power, give thanks to our Lord for that gift and now you can conquer the temptations of this world.
O - People are constantly falling into the ways of the world. They aren't doing the things necessary to allow God to transform their thinkings, allowing the Holy Spirit to renew them. God wants us to know what pleases Him, He wants us to know what is good for us and what is perfect for our lives. He gave us His words so that we could soak in them and learn these very things.
A - I will soak in His word daily. I want to learn how to please God and become more perfect in His eyes. I don't want to conform to this world. The ways of our world currently are not ways that please God. I will stand my ground when it comes to denying customs and behaviors that are thrust upon me but are not Godly.
P - Father, thank you for giving me the gift of your Word. Thank you for showing me where I can learn how to please you and get closer to you. I pray that you would protect me from the temptations of this world and help me to eliminate worldly behaviors. Father, protect me from both peer pressure and attacks from the enemy. Help me to remain strong in your ways. This includes watching over my thoughts and actions and allowing me to always see the light you have for my path. In Jesus' name, Amen
