Day one started with us in a church practicing the dramas that would be performed at the schools. It was a lot of fun but I am somewhat disappointed that we didn't learn the first skit that was about The Creation. Our team was making an awesome Tree in the garden..lol We had already done the Everything skit so it was just a matter of dusting off the cobwebs.
Something we were asked to do at each school, was to pick "the One". This would be one child that you saw and pray for that child the entire time you are at the school. Pray for revelation from God for that child, for Protection and Healing for that child, pray for a connnection. It is very powerful. So I ask my readers to pray for us as we pray for the child that needs us the most, each and every time.
Then off to the first school. This was an elementary school. The kids are all very happy to see us as we come in. Laura was in tears just walking into the school gates, it was actually very moving. The kids all enjoyed the skits and listened as well as small people can listen when testimonies were given. Then of course the bell rand just as Tonya was about to speak. She maintained and was awesome as the new children gathered and she went on without missing a beat. Afterwords we all went out into the children just to pray, support, mingle or anything to show them the love of Jesus. The time seemed short as they called us all to get on the bus.
Once on the bus, we were served our lunch, which would include pre-prepared ham sandwiches and a little bag of chips. You don't complain, you just eat what is handed to you. Then it was off to the next school.
This school was also an elementary but slightly older children. It was here that 7 young ladies decided they should all fly home with me and become part of my family. Many kids came forward for prayer. But the kids are still pretty young so there really hasn't big a big impact yet.
Traffic was horrible so the short drive back to the hotel took an extremely long time. We were dirty and hungry. Once we finally made it back, most of us got in a good shower. While we waited for dinner we worked on cuttimg and putting together things that the girls will be using for crafts at the conference. Dinner kept getting moved to later and later and people were starting to get tired and even a bit grumpy. But dinner was worth the wait. A nicely prepared chicken and rice dish with pita bread.
Upon completion of dinner, all most of us wanted was a bed. That is why you are just getting Day 1 posted at the end of Day 2.
