Only because of the gift of Jesus are we able to become reconciled with God. Only because of the gift of Jesus, are we able to be forgiven of our sins. Only because of the gift of Jesus, can we come to the Father. Only because of the gift of Jesus, can we really know the Father. Jesus is our intercessor, our mediator, our Savior and our friend. Even as Timothy writes, years after the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus, he is still very clear as to who Jesus is to us. It is extremely evident of how important it is for us to receive the gift that God openly presented to each of us. We celebrate this gift as Christmas in December. Regardless whether this is the exact date of His birth or not, we need to recognize it and give thanks. Of course, we need to give thanks daily for Jesus in our lives, but some may need an annual reminder.
O - This scripture in 1 Timothy outlines exactly why Jesus was born and is a gift to us. He is the one that is the conduit between us and God. He reconciles us, the lowly sinner with His perfect Father, our Lord God. His birth was the perfect gift and God knew exactly what He was doing. It was a way to bring us back to Him.
A - I thank you Jesus for always interceding for my with the Father. I thank you Father for the gift of your Son. I will tell others how they as part of humanity can be saved and reconciled by coming to know Jesus Christ.
P - Jesus, thank you for your presence in my life, Lord thank you for the present (gift) of a Savior. Please help me to always know that I can come to you through your Son and because of that I have my salvation and ever lasting life. Please help me to always be abruptly aware of that and able to pass the message on to so many others. Amen.
