I will start with a short synopsis of the book of Galatians. This book was written by the Apostle Paul in what is thought to be 49 A.D. to the church at Galatia. The overall theme of Galatians is Spiritual Salvation and Freedom by Grace through Faith.
There are two main issues addressed in this book. Is Faith in Jesus Christ the only requirement for a person to receive salvation and a personal relationship with God; or is obedience to certain Old Testament Jewish practices and Laws required in order to be spiritually saved and have a right relationship with God? It appears that Paul wrote this letter before the issue was formally debated in Jerusalem and before the church had an official position confirmed.
Tomorrow, I will delve into chapter 1, so go ahead and read it and be ready with your comments. This should be a great study and very enlightening to all who are involved. I know that I was quite taken this time around and I have read the book many times before.
