Just hearing and reading these words puts me into a mood to celebrate regardless of what time of year it is. Granted, it is true that we do not know the exact date of the birth of Jesus. But as a culture withing Christianity, we have chosen one special day to celebrate our gift from Heaven. I would be willing to bet that most people reading this have celebrated their birthdays on a day other than their exact day before. It doesn't matter that Jesus' birthday isn't exactly on Dec. 25th, what matters is that we consistently celebrated it the same day for the same purpose year after year. It is not a pagan holiday as some would like to believe. For Christians around the world, it is the day we celebrate the gift God gave us with the one who would become our Savior. That is why we give gifts on Christmas, to show our love for those we love. The issue with the commercialization is that those that don't truly believe in the reason for the season felt they deserved to celebrate this day as well.Don't get me wrong, anyone that is celebrating Christmas has to be getting something out of it. What a great time to plant the seeds of faith and hope in others. So remember, yes this is Christmas and yes, we have a reason to celebrate!
Luke 2:11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
