Today, I searched for a verse that would work on this Sabbath Day. So many of us go to church, we don't always think we also need to take personal time with our Lord. Allow Him to live in you at all times so that you can experience His freedom. Freedom from what you may ask, all things that are troubling you. Or if you are not troubled, just to experience His pure joy is an amazing feeling of freedom.
Today I am offering up a short discussion of Philippians 4:4-7. Paul has some great advice for us here. All we have to do is read this and take it apart. When you take it apart, it becomes a step by step instruction for contentment.
Since I can no longer share video of someone else's devotions, I decided to simply share God's word and what it means to me. Today's verse is Psalm 130:1-5 even though in the video is sounds like I am saying Psalm 30:1-5, please note the correction. I am also sharing the scripture on one of the photos I took so you can read it here.
I thought it was a good idea to share the YouVersion devotion on line. But when I looked further into it, I believe I am violating copyright laws and infringing on their works. So I will no longer be bringing you the series by Beth Moore, The Quest. I highly recommend though that you download YouVersion and continue this devotional. There are many more as well.
In the mean time, I am going to be working on my on devotional to be able to share with you. I will have it available for download for for free right here on my site. If all goes well it will be available by the end of the month. God is really putting it in my heart to share more of Him. I have a good start on the scriptures and I just need to write the daily messages that go along with those scriptures.
Also, I don't have a lot to say this morning as I have managed to catch this cold or flu bug, whatever it is from my husband. I feel like a truck has run me over. So I will be praying for healing and if you are reading this today, please come into agreement with me for healing.
We often want to know who we are in Christ. We forget that if we will only allow ourselves to read His word, He will tell us. Just like He told the 12 tribes of Israel who they were in God, you too can know who you are in His Son. Today is Day 3 of The Quest by Beth Moore. I hope you can follow along and enjoy it.
I hope you enjoy day 2 of this amazing Bible devotional. If you don't have the app it is called YouVersion and you can make a free account. You can also go to Bible.com on your computer. This is all made possible because of LifeChurch. I simply pray that this is something I am doing because God wants me to, not because I want to. Please feel free to leave comments or suggestions below or sent me an email.
https://www.bible.com https://www.life.church/ mhcgb.com PastorDeb.weebly.com - These are just a few of the links that can be helpful in following along with this Bible Study. YouVersion on your computer is through Bible.com or you can download the app to any of your devices. LifeChurch is the supplier and supporter of YouVersion. They offer this for free and all the devotionals are available for all of us. They even have it set up now to work on a study together while on line. Because of this free offer, I decided to share it via video. If I find that this is not allowed, I will cease and let you know. But I want to give full credit where it is due. The study I am starting with is called The Quest by Beth Moore. I really hope you like it. If I only bring one person to a better relationship with the Lord through this study, it will have been worth it.
Good morning everyone. I was not up late ringing in the New Year like so many I am sure. I actually fell asleep around 10:30 pm or so. But I woke up wide awake right at Midnight exactly. Then I could not fall asleep for hours after that. I had so many thoughts and ideas in my head. I don't know if I am crazy or being led. Sometimes I consider that the things that I think up may simply be my own crazy ideas. I Like so many question my and ideas. I wonder, hey is that me or is God planting a seed? What it all boils down to is this, who is going to receive the honor and glory? I may be the presenter, but who is my subject matter? When I am doing whatever it takes to get His Good News out there, I have to consider that maybe the idea was His and it is okay.
So by now, you are probably all wondering what is she up to now. Here is my idea, I would love to hear from you with comments on what you think of this idea. I am planning on doing a YouTube series where I share devotions I am doing from the YouVersion Bible app. I would let everyone know what plan I was doing, give full credit to both YouVersion and LifeChurch as well as the author of the plan. I could read it, read the scriptures and just give my thoughts. I would then post the Youtube video on this page so that you could watch it if you like. Now, be aware, I am asking for you input but I pretty much am sure I am going to do this.
I just don't think I can go wrong if I am spreading God's word and the love of Jesus Christ. If just one new soul comes to the Lord then it will have been worth the effort.
As 2017 comes to an end, I try to remember that God always directs my steps as long as I will listen to those directions. Things that need to be renewed will be renewed if I will follow God's plan. I must always remember to stay the course He has for me. Sometimes that is the hardest thing. We take our worldly things for granted and start to do things our way and forget that God has already made a way for us.
So for 2018, I really want to concentrate on doing things God's Way. Following His path and seriously allowing Him to direct my steps. I want to concentrate on waiting on the Lord, listening to the Lord and sharing the Lord. I want people to see Jesus in me and through me. I want people to know Him because of my actions.
I hope this scripture photo for today points you in the right direction.
I will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is a great day. I know they all really should be since God has made them all. But as humans, we have good ones, bad ones and great ones. I am not really sure why today is a great day. I am just happy. Maybe it is because my oldest niece is getting married today. An amazing celebration of two becoming one. Maybe it is because I have been asked to give the prayer before the meal, a time to celebrate what God has provided for all of us. Maybe it is because I have such and amazing husband and marriage of my own that is truly a gift from our Lord. Maybe and most probably it is because of the time I get to and choose to spend in the Word with God Himself. This is a great day because He is a great God.
When we take time each morning to put God first, our days are just naturally going to be better. It isn't about how much time but that you took the time and that you make Him your priority. As you get closer to Him and get to know Him more, you will find yourself wanting to spend more time with Him. God is pretty amazing when you get right to it. When you start to now only see His love but feel it. You will start to understand statements like, "it was put on my heart" "God spoke to me" "I was moved" and other phrases that you may have simply passed by as religious speak. You will truly notice a change in yourself, in you desires, in how you treat others.
Challenge yourselves, take 30 days and read a devotional every morning with scripture and pray a prayer of thanks giving to our Lord. I would be willing to bet you don't want to quit after 30 days and more importantly, you will truly understand the statement from Psalms 118 This is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. LOL You, like me today, will feel great sometimes without even realizing why. Then it will hit you, you a child of the King. You are an heir to Heaven with Christ Himself. You have been chosen. It just doesn't get any better than this!!
I am a child of God, a wife, a mother, a missionary, a supervisor, a servant and most recently, a Pastor.
